The needs and challenges of those aging solo are different, especially for LGBT seniors who are more likely to live alone and not have children. An Aging Plan is for living, thriving and making the most out of life!
We'll discuss the steps for building a plan, finding resources, and taking control. We'll address the three biggest concerns reported by older LGBTQ+ adults:
- 76% are concerned about having inadequate family or social supports to rely on as they age
- LGBTQ+ Welcoming senior centers and housing: 91% are at least somewhat interested in LGBTQ+ welcoming housing
- Long term care: More than 60% are concerned about neglect, abuse, and verbal or physical harassment in long-term care facilities.
